MUMBAI: Sangeeta Ahir Moviez, the film production company founded and run by Bollywood producer and philanthropist Sangeeta Ahir and her entrepreneur-son Krrish Ahir, has extended its support to the film industry of Mumbai as part of the nationwide fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Through their production company, the mother-son duo has pledged to support daily wage film workers affected by the coronavirus shutdown. This move will contribute towards the upkeep of the families of these individuals and ensure they stay safe and healthy in these trying times. The announcement was made in the presence of politician Sachin Ahir, Sangeeta’s husband and Maharashtra tourism and environment minister Aaditya Thackeray.
Sangeeta Ahir said: “In times of crisis, it is crucial that the film fraternity stand together and support one another. Daily wage workers form the backbone of our industry, and have helped turn our city into the nation’s entertainment capital. Now it is our turn to extend our support. With this move, we will present a united front against this global threat.”
