Dish TV's Watcho surpasses 15 million users

The platform provides over thirty five original shows in Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu language.

NEW DELHI: As the adoption of digital rises and more and more Indian consumers make the switch from linear to streaming content, Dish TV India announced that its over the top platform Watcho has surpassed 15 million users.

The video streaming platform caters to millennials with its original content and focus on short format content which has remained favourable for digital consumption.

Dish TV India executive director and group CEO Anil Dua said, “Watcho’s growth has been incredible, and it took us just over one year to break the fifteen million mark from one million-plus user in January 2020. Our goal has always been to offer unique content, and this milestone shows our hard work has paid off." 

“We believe that our focused strategy of offering short-format video content has worked in our favour and has led to rapid growth," said DishTV & Watcho corporate head- marketing Sukhpreet Singh added. "This landmark motivates us to continue creating and offering such entertainment options across genres to meet the evolving demands of our diverse customers.”

Watcho provides over 35 original shows in Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu language. Apart from enabling consumption of content, it also provides Live TV for DishTV and D2H subscribers. The platform has also recently launched its user-generated content offering — Watcho Swag — which provides a unique platform for content creation, learning, and showcasing talent.
