NEW DELHI: Nothing, the technology company founded by Carl Pei who also co-founded OnePlus, has brought on Manu Sharma as the vice president and general manager of its India unit.

Sharma is a former VP- product strategy of Samsung and will be taking care of the company's growth, business development and operations in the country. He has spent over two decades working with Samsung Mobile and Hewlett Packard in India, and will be overseeing the regional product strategy, marketing and sales operations for the brand, according to a statement issued by the company.

“I am thrilled to welcome Manu as part of the growing Nothing team. He is an experienced business leader with a deep knowledge and understanding of the consumer technology industry in India. With his proven track record and experience, he will play a pivotal role for our growth in India,” said CEO Carl Pei, who parted ways with OnePlus last year in September and founded the new venture, headquartered in London.

“I am very excited to be part of Nothing’s journey. Carl’s vision is inspiring and I am confident that Nothing will have a meaningful impact on the consumer technology market in India and around the world,” said Sharma.

The announcement comes a day after Nothing confirmed Teenage Engineering as the founding partner for the company. Teenage Engineering is a Stockholm-based company known for their industrial design. It is led by Jesper Kouthoofd, who is also the creative lead behind Nothing’s product design, said the firm in a release. Kouthoofd will be working along with Tom Howard, who is the head of design at Nothing.
