Tanu Weds Manu nets Rs 312 mn; satellite rights go to Zee

MUMBAI: Viacom18‘s first movie production is turning out to be a profitable hit. It is literally a one horse race for Tanu Weds Manu as the film has been enjoying an unopposed open run for the last three weeks since its release.

With other releases on hold due to Cricket World Cup and exams, this fair entertainer is steadily adding to its box office booty. The film‘s third week collections of Rs 51 million takes its total to Rs 312 million.

The film, which saw the finish after quite a few hurdles, is a win-win situation for all concerned now including Zee TV which came to its rescue to felicitate its easy release with a bailout against the film‘s satellite rights for Rs 70 million.

7 Khoon Maaf collected about Rs 45 million in its 4th week to take its tally to Rs 170.6 million.

As it claims a 50-day run at the box office, Dil Toh Baccha Hai adds a symbolic Rs 4 million to its total, taking the tally to Rs 299 million.
