NCPA JOIN HANDS WITH ZEE TV SA RE GA MA PA LI?L CHAMPS TO TRANSFORM KIDS? SUMMER VACATIONS
Mumbai, 29th April 2011: In the age of play stations, reality shows and study pressures? where is the space to explore one‘s creativity, learn new skills, discover new talents within? This summer, in a first-of-its-kind initiative, the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and Zee TV come together to offer kids a ?Summer Fiesta? ? a holistic training module in the field of performing arts and entertainment thereby making Summer 2011, a special one for kids across the country.
The NCPA and Zee TV are both established leaders in their respective domains. The Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li?l Champs contestants will get a once in a lifetime opportunity to groom themselves as complete performers as they participate in Summer Fiesta. The kids will learn from and interact with stalwarts in the field of performing arts and entertainment who will be conducting workshops at the NCPA. These enriching experiences of sharing the stage with the gurus of Hindustani classical music like Shubha Mudgal & others will give them an edge to be better performers. They will also get a ready platform to showcase their skills in front of a live audience even before Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li?l Champs comes on air and this will give them the required confidence to face audiences all across the globe.
The NCPA Summer Fiesta‘11 has a larger range of workshops (23 workshops, 5 plays and 4 films) in dance, drama, movement, puppetry, circus arts, theatre games etc conducted by KP Rakesh (Kalakshetra, Chennai), Mehneer Sudan, Seema Mehta, Miti Desai, Shaun Williams, Shaizia Jifri, Roo Jhala and others in association with acknowledged experts, Jehan Maneckshaw and his Theatre Professionals team and Kaizaad Kotwal of Poor Box Productions. Some of the finest theatre groups in Mumbai like Akvarious and Gillo will present plays for especially children. There is also a selection of delightful films (Free Entry) from all over the world especially designed for children, which will be presented in collaboration with WorldKids Foundation. NCPA Summer Fiesta will also see special guest appearances by eminent filmmakers and theater professionals such as Amol Gupte (of Taare Zameen Par fame), Cyrus Broacha and others.
Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L?il Champs aims to select talented children in India who dream of becoming the biggest child singing sensation. This season will only double up the singing mania as children will bring the house down with their unbelievable flair for music and singing. This show is an amazing opportunity that aims to discover hidden talent amongst children. The best singing talent will be selected from across the nation and their mettle will be judged on this platform.
