21-minute Indian short film to screen at Palm Springs Fest

MUMBAI: The 17th Palm Springs International ShortFest has shortlisted The Eclipse of Taregna to be screened at the festival that is to go underway on 21 June.

Directed by Rakesh Chaudhary, the 21-minute short film is about an old man taking his grandson to witness a solar eclipse. The official website of the festival describes the film as “…gorgeously rendered view of life in a small town in India.”

Incidentally, the film won the best short film award at the recently concluded Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles.

In all, this year’s edition of the festival will present 331 films which include 64 world premieres, 58 North American premieres and 25 US premieres.

The festival will run till 27 June.
