In God’s Land to receive Busan fest’s AND fund

MUMBAI: Pankaj Rishi Kumar’s documentary, In God’s Land, has been chosen to receive the AND Fund instituted by Busan International Film Festival

The documentary will be funded under a category that evaluates Asian Projects that tell stories of disputed territories or films produced in those regions.

All the 31 selected films will receive different funds like the script development fund, post-production fund and Asian Network of Documentary [AND] fund that is a part of Asian Cinema Fund. It also comprises script development fund and post-production fund added together.

The Busan Film Festival will be held from 6 to 14 October.

This year’s ACF Script Development Fund has been allocated to four Asian projects, three Korean projects and one from a graduate of the Asian Film Academy (AFA) – BIFF”s annual filmmaker’s workshop.

The BIFF selected two projects each from Philippines and Thailand. They are Pepe Diokno’s Above The Clouds and Sheron Dayoc’s Satra from Phillipines and Wisit Sasanatieng’s Muay Thai boxer Suriya and Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit’s Interior from Thailand.

The Korean projects which BIFF deemed to “show incredible creativity and the various initiatives” are Jang Hee-sun’s Somebody To Love, Kim Tae-yong’s Stop Over and Kim Dong-hyun’s Happy Birthday Mom!

From amongst the AFA graduates, BIFF selected Abu Shahed Emon’s The Tale Of A Good Police from Bangladesh.
