MUMBAI: Crest Animation Studios has entered into a joint venture with US-based animation and FX studio Reel FX for a wide slate of movies spread over eight years.

The two companies plan to invest $200 million to produce ten films during this period. The funding for the CGI animated and hybrid feature films will be through a mix of equity and debt.

While Reel FX will be the main creative partner, Crest will be the animation service provider. Crest expects the revenue flow to be over $100 million over a period of five years.
 
When contacted, senior Crest executives declined to provide further details.

The films will be developed by top talent in Hollywood under the supervision of ex CEO of Walden Media Cary Granet, Crest said.
