Akshay Kumar to play Lord Krishna in film with Paresh Rawal

MUMBAI: Akshay Kumar is reportedly in plans to play Lord Krishna in his own adaptation of a play Krishan vs Kanhaiya.

Krishan vs Kanhaiya centres on an atheist who loses all his money when his antique shop is destroyed in an earthquake. While Kumar will enact the role of the Hindu god in the big screen version, the search is now on for an actor who would play Kanhaiya.

The film is to be jointly produced by Kumar and Rawal and the film is likely to go on the floors sometime next year. It is said that both of them will soon go on a location recces and finalise the cast thereafter.

Kumar firmed up the idea of the film soon after watching the play in Bandra on Monday.
