BANGALORE: Anurag Kashyap’s latest directorial venture ‘That Girl In Yellow Boots’ (TGIYB), which stars his actress wife Kalki Koechlin, is all geared up for its grand US premiere. The director-actor duo will walk the red carpet at The Asia Society, NYC on the evening of Wednesday, 24 August.

TGYIN has achieved a measure of success, popularity and a standing ovation in the Film Festivals of Venice and Toronto.

Says Kashyap,” “I am very delighted as this film is getting such a great response. This film was emotionally the most draining film to shoot. It was a tough one; especially because it was made with borrowed money. I am very contented looking at the credibility my film has received.”

Naseeruddin Shah has a role in the film. That Girl in Yellow Boots is a thriller tracing the female lead Koechlin character Ruth‘s search for her father - a man she hardly knew but cannot forget. Desperation drives her to work without a permit, at a massage parlour. Torn between several schisms, Mumbai becomes the alien but yet strangely familiar backdrop for Ruth‘s quest. She struggles to find her independence and space even as she is sucked deeper into the labyrinthine politics of the city‘s underbelly.
