MUMBAI: Ten Sports has added women?s hockey to its overall hockey offering with the addition of Womens Champions Trophy 2012.

As part of the agreement, Ten will broadcast a selection of group matches, quarter finals and qualification matches across eight markets - India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, and Afghanistan.

The broadcaster had inked a four-year broadcast rights deal with FIH spanning nine tournaments and 50 plus India matches till 2014. Ten Sports had also televised the 2010 FIH Mens Hockey World Cup when it was held in India.

In Pakistan, besides Ten Sports public broadcaster PTV will telecast all the matches live except for four matches - two in the league stage and two in the final stage.

The FIH WCT 2012, which got underway on 28 January, will be held in Rosario, Argentina. The finals of the tournament take place on 5 February.

Meanwhile, Pan-European sports network Europsort?s supplementary channel EUROSPORT 2 will cover seven group matches, three quarter finals, the semi-finals and the final for the European market.

In Australia and New Zealand, SKY NZ and Fox AUS will provide the broadcast coverage respectively. Astro Supersport will cover the matches for Malaysia and Indonesia.

Besides the television coverage, all 24 matches of the tournament will be streamed exclusively online on livefih.tv, the official online broadcaster for hockey created by FIH.
