Onir plans 3 films with new cast

MUMBAI: Excited after his film I Am bagged the National awards in the best film and best lyrics category, Onir has announced that he is on his way to produce three films with his accomplice Sanjay Suri.

The first film, Chauranga, is based in Jharkhand and directed by Vikas Mishra. Coach Kaminey will be directed by debutant director Ashwini Malik. The film will go on the floors in August and shot in Punjab.

The third film, Shab, will be directed by Onir himself. The producer plans to cast all new faces in the film as he believes in boosting young talent.

Onir plans to release all the three films between December this year and early next year.

Incidentally, I Am was the first of its kind, crowd-sourced mainstream Hindi film that was co-produced by over 400 people from 35 cities across the world.

Meanwhile, Onir has received an official invitation from Cannes to be part of the film festival‘s Producers Network.
