New Delhi : Zee Media as a responsible fourth estate of the democracy has time and again showed its intent of strengthening the democracy with its various instruments of engagement and empowerment. ?Karmakshetra?, a unique and pathbreaking election program is one such initiative which has started on 14th June, 2013 and will be telecasted every weekday at 6:30PM.

With the widespread belief of early General Elections, Zee Media felt it was imperative to bring an election programme which aims at voicing the concerns and hopes of voters across the country. The program gives every vote a voice, and every ballot a face. Karmakshetra, to be telecasted starting 14th June, 2013 will profile every Lok Sabha constituency and its MP, connect the constituents and bring MPs face-to-face with those who enfranchise them.

The program, which will entail Zee Media team to travel to each and every MP Constituency in the country, is being conducted on a scale never-seen-before on Indian television, Karmakshetra will provide the voter a rare opportunity to question his MP on his performance, and demand answers. During the telecast, these MP?s from respective constituencies will be live on the program and respond to what the voters from their constituency want from them.

First in many respects, the program enables constituents to rate their MPs on their performance across various predetermined parameters. Every Lok Sabha constituency in the country will have a report card that reflects uniquely their concerns and hopes. Every telecast will list the wishes of these constituencies, present a survey of the promises made, and finally those kept. In the end the result will be a unique democratic marking system, reflecting the aspirations of the voters with respect to their MPs.

Karmakshetra?s today?s episode telecasted at 6:30pm was on the Karimnagar Lok Sabha Constituency (Telengana region of Andhra Pradesh). It entailed the aspirations and concerns of the voters of this constituency from their Lok Sabha MP. The Member of Parliament, Mr. Ponnam Prabhakar from the Congress (I) party was live during the programme. Zee Media team had exhaustedly reviewed and travelled across the length and breadth of this constituency to prepare for this episode.

Sudhir Chaudhary, Editor, Zee News Ltd said on the occasion, ?Zee Media believes and lives by its motto of ?Soch Badlo, Desh Badlo? and is committed to constructive nation building. Zee News has committed itself to create awareness in Indian citizenry about their rights and responsibilities and is working towards its goals through its programming and allied machinery.

?We at Zee Media have a singular objective in mind ? to turn the world?s biggest democracy into a force to reckon with.
