MUMBAI:English movie channel Pix has announced that this month?s installment of its Movie Club initiative is ?Transformers: Dark Of The Moon?. The club is an initiative by the channel to encourage college students to watch the best new Hollywood movies in town. The free screening takes place in Mumbai at PVR Juhu at 9.55 am on Wednesday 29 June.

In the film when an event from Earth‘s past erupts into the present day, it threatens to incite a war so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save the planet. The film has been directed by Michael Bay who also made the previous transformer movies. It has been produced by Steven Spielberg and stars Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Tyrese Gibson.

To be a member of The Pix Movie Club students can register online with www.pixtelevision.com. On applying, a membership number will be sent to the applicants via email which needs to be shown at the multiplex.

Pix marketing head Himmat Butalia says that the Movie Club now has 8000 members. ?We are looking to expand our screenings from one to two or three movies a month. We do SMS pushes, mailers to create awareness. We also conduct polls on our Facebook Fan Page to see what films students want to watch. Mumbai has fared the best for us in terms of response. Delhi and Bangalore have seen some films get a strong response.?

In the new ?Transformers? film the Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in the previous film 2009?s ?Transformers Revenge of the Fallen?. There‘s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime "Transformers" character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.
