Singapore MDA to ink two MOUs at MIPTV

MIPTV

MUMBAI: The focus may be on the Korean contingent this year, but Singapore has already firmed up its intentions for MIPTV 2005.

The Media Development Authority of Singapore will be inking two MOUs, one with Discovery Networks Asia and the other with Oak3 Films, a Singapore company.

These would involve multi-million commitment from all parties and will result in a spate of programmes spanning content genres from drama to docu. A third MOU, an extension of the MOU with the MDA, which Oak3 Films will be signing one with FFP New Media, will involve more co-productions. FFP New Media, is the German partner for the production of House of Harmony.

Meanwhile, Singapore animation and entertainment company, Scrawl Studios Pte Ltd, is set to inject a dose of action and infectious fun into MIPTV 2005 with a new animation series, Nanoboy. A 2D animated series for children between six and nine years, the series is about a tiny superhero who fights villains too small for the naked eye to see, in micro-worlds all around us, from the water we drink, to the air we breathe, and even inside our bodies.

According to Scrawl Studios, which co-produces the series with the MDA, the action comedy series that also educates viewers about health and hygiene, and is ideal for cross-platform exploitation from TV to publishing, merchandising and collectibles, console and java gaming.
