The Star channels - Star Plus and Star Gold went live on BARB on 20th Sep 2010.

As the first South Asian pay channels to be BARB rated, Star goes up against 300 + UK channels and this strategic well-thought decision has paid off predominantly due to the loyal viewer base. The results prove that the BARB rated Star channels have a very high appeal with the South Asian viewers across the Indian and the Pakistani communities.
The initial decision has been to go live with two channels in the Star Network - Star Plus, the Flagship General Entertainment Channel and Star Gold, the popular Bollywood channel with an appeal to both the South Asian and non-Asian communities.
Star Plus has recently adopted a fresh new look, in terms of a channel re-brand, revamped content and scheduling strategy which has proved to be very successful with the viewers. The new content line-up includes innovative formats such ‘Masterchef India‘ hosted by Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, the very new season of ‘Koffee with Karan‘, blockbuster titles such as ‘Rajneeti‘, recent hits like ‘I hate Luv Stories‘ and new drama series.
Star Gold boats of one of the largest film libraries, comprising movies of outstanding critical & commercial success.
The programming schedules on Star Plus and Star Gold, as the results show, are extremely strong and second to none.
