Sun Direct gets 2 more transponders on Measat

MUMBAI: Kalanithi Maran-promoted direct-to-home (DTH) company Sun Direct has entered in an agreement with Measat Satellite Systems for additional capacity.

Sun Direct, which earlier had two KU-band transponders on Measat, will add two more transponders, making Measat-3 the prime satellite for its DTH service.

“We are delighted to be able to support Sun Direct with additional capacity,” said Measat COO Paul Brown-Kenyon. “Supporting five DTH platforms in three markets across two satellites, 91.5°E is one of the strongest DTH orbital slots in Asia.”
