MUMBAI: Ahead of Oscars night, Star Movies has designed Oscar Fever, which will showcase Oscar winning and nominated films such as The Pianist, Bicentennial Man, Erin Brockovich, Cold Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Sea Biscuit and Master And Commander: The Far Side Of The World.
Coming 5 February, Star Movies will feature Roman Polanskis, The Pianist, which depicts the real life story of a Polish composer who owes his miraculous survival of the holocaust to music.
The Pianist bagged three Oscars from the 75 Annual Academy Awards, for achievement in directing (Roman Polanski), best performance by an actor in a leading role (Adrien Brody) and best adapted screenplay (Ronald Harwood).
The fiesta continues with Oscar winning titles like Bicentennial Man, Armageddon and The Thin Red Line, to name a few.
The Oscar fever is a curtain raiser to the 78 Annual Academy Awards live on Star Movies on 6 March at 5:30 am with a prime time repeat on the same day at 8 pm.
According to an official release, the films that form a part of the Oscar showcase on the channel have either been nominated or have won the Oscar award in various categories such as best direction, best performance by an actor in a leading role, best performance by an actor in a supporting role, best sound editing and best picture.
Star Movies kicked off the Oscar Fever from 1 February with an array of acclaimed movies every night at 11:15 pm.
