MUMBAI: Sony's attempt to spruce up its 10:30 pm band begins 27 December with the launch of CID Special Bureau. Slotted on Monday and Tuesdays, the show comes as an extension of the long running brand CID.
CID Special Bureau will delve into cold cases that have been left unsolved for many years. Also, to ensure a hook, the show will deal with one plot on both Monday and Tuesday within one week.
Commenting on the brand extension Sony's EVP programming and response Tarun Katial says, "CID Special Bureau is yet another endeavour to provide all our viewers an extra dose of their favourite show CID. With CID Special Bureau viewers can now look forward to contemporary and gripping stories with a different aspect of crime and investigation."
The special series will star the veteran Shivaji Satyam who is synonymous with the CID brand along with a fresh team of dedicated cops who will specialise in solving unsolved cases that have been gathering dust for years.
CID Special Bureau producer BP Singh says, "This show is a classical mix of new-age technology and investigative wisdom. It stands a class apart because it deals with forgotten, unsolved crimes that are unearthed after years. It proves that no case is ever solved until closed!"
Interestingly, the much awaited dramatic episode of Tulsi of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi killing her immoral son Ansh is slated at the same time of CID Special Bureau's launch.
