Hurray! launches first mobile album in China

MUMBAI: Hurray! Holding Co. Ltd., a provider of advanced wireless value-added services and mobile telecommunication network software in China, has launched the first mobile album iYou Are My Roses by Long Pang in China. It can be downloaded or heard on mobile phones.

Commenting on this announcement, Hurray Chairman and CEO QD Wang said, ''This is the first time an album has been launched over the mobile networks in China months before its CD or Internet release. We think this new way of music distribution is particularly attractive in China as it reaches over 300 million mobile phone users in China. It also helps avoiding the piracy problems which may arise in the context of CD and Internet distributions.''

Under an exclusive licensing agreement with Beijing Bird Man Entertainment Co. Ltd., Hurray! will distribute songs from Long Pang's new album through its WAP, CRBT, IVR and MMS services. It will also provide exclusive coverage of Long Pang's 2005 concert tours across China through its wireless value- added services, an official release said.
