Speaking on the launch of Happy Go Lucky Star India EVP content Deepak Segal said, "A reflection of the attitudes, aspirations and dilemmas of present day teenage boys, the show revolves around two teenagers, Happy and Lucky who hail from different backgrounds but become best of friends while passing through various twists and turns in their lives. The launch of this show is a step further in providing wholesome entertainment to the teeny boppers of today who form an integral part of Star One's audience."
Lucky is quiet and reclusive and doesn't have too many friends. While, Happy is very popular in his school. Lucky quite likes the fact that he has a popular friend, not realising that Happy in his own way admires Lucky. Happy is largely influenced by popular culture; Will Smith, Emenem et al and Lucky often mocks at his dress sense and his use of hip-hop slang. They both fulfill a unique need in each other despite being different.
