MUMBAI: Kids‘ channels Disney and Nick have lined up a special fan fare for kids on the occasion of Teacher‘s Day (5 September). |

Disney will be giving out special Teacher’s Day cards to kids during a specially conducted school contact programme - ‘Mazey Ki Class‘. This distribution was done in close to 230 schools across six cities and reached approximately 180,000 kids through this exercise. The kids were given one card each as well as a leaflet with a simple contest. The contest will ask kids to write in the name of their favourite teacher – and ask why they would want to take their teacher out for dinner. Twenty five lucky kids whose answers are most interesting will get to take his/her favourite teacher for dinner.
Kids can also contact Disney through snail mail, SMS, website and the channel will send a special Disney Teacher’s Day card to their favourite teachers before 5 September. The card will have the name of the teacher as well as the name of the kid the from whom it has been sent. Cards will also be sent to school principals. Apart from this, the channel will also air a special movie on Teacher‘s Day at 6 pm called Recess: School’s Out. On the other hand, Nick will have a special Teacher’s month, which will have one hour of a Double-Decker ride every weekend! Nick will drive kids to school even on Saturdays and Sundays in a series of weekend programming that would highlight the importance of the role of a teacher and the joys of being a student. One hour every weekend in September will be dedicated to the student-teacher theme. From 1 - 2 pm, Nick will introduce kids to life’s sweetest, nicest and scariest teachers. The special programmes that will be aired are given below:
