Sony Music picks up Discovery refrain

MUMBAI: Sony Digital Home Entertainment, a division of Sony Music India, has now become the marketing and distribution partner of Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. Sony Music will start releasing titles from these extensive catalogues on VCD and DVD formats from early January 2004.
The titles will be priced, starting from Rs 195 as opposed to the earlier price of Rs 299. The initial lot consists of 30 popular titles from the 'Unsolved Mysteries', 'Extreme' 'The World's Most Amazing...' and 'Shipwreck' series.
Apart from various music video titles in the recent past, Sony Digital Home Entertainment has also exclusively distributed titles from the 'ICC Cricket World Cup 2003' and films like 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and 'Saathiya' in various formats. Recently, they have also acquired the home video rights for Dharma Productions' smash hit 'Kal Ho Naa Ho'.
