BANGALORE: Radio City Bangalore's programming head Suresh Venkat has joined CNBC TV18. Venkat has joined the channel's editorial team.

Speaking to indiantelevision.com Venkat said the shift was to fulfill his ambition to be a part of the news industry.

"I always wanted to be involved with the news industry and CNBC has given me the chance now. My role here has not yet been defined, I'll probably do a feature show."

Venkat joined Radio City in July 2001 at its inception as a radio jockey. He later left Radio City for a few months due to personal reasons, only to later rejoin it as programming head in 2002. Venkat has been anchoring the popular Saturday program Brunch with the boss on Radio City. Venkat has also worked for Channel [V] as a producer.
