BBC World will create architectural 'Dreamscapes'

BBC World

MUMBAI: Style and elegance! These two words best describe BBC World's new show Dreamscapes. The show, which focuses on architectural designs throughout the world, will air every Thursday from 16 September at 7 pm with repeats on Sundays at 11 pm and Mondays at 1 pm.

Architects David Adjaye, Justine Frischman and Charlie Luxton present the show that has 12 episodes. The first one kicks off in New York where top of the line architects are being commissioned by big names in fashion to design their stores. The show visits Rem Koolhaas' new store for Prada. The episode also visits Puerto Rico for a sample of a uniquely designed hotel. All this makes the show very aspirational and hip. It is something that the whole family can appreciate and not just people who have a passion for architecture.
As a part of a community outreach programme BBC World held a screening for architecture students at JJ School of Art and Architecture this afternoon. In addition, six students presented design concepts. What is interesting however is that Dreamscapes does not visit India.
The show is being sponsored by Malaysia Airlines.
