MUMBAI: Granada International has announced that the reality show Nanny 911 has been picked up in the Middle East by MBC and in Turkey by Kanal D
Nanny 911 was devised by Granada America for Fox. The Middle East version will be produced by MBC’s in-house production team for a pan regional audience across the Middle East. The episodes will feature top flight nannies from a number of different Middle Eastern countries in order to give a pan-regional feel to the series.
Production will start in early December and the series, under a local title yet to be confirmed, will be transmitted on MBC later this year in a primetime slot.
In Turkey Nanny 911 will appear on one of Turkey’s main commercial channels, Kanal D and will be produced by ANS, Kanal D’s in-house production company. The series will be broadcast in a primetime slot later in 2006.
Granada International formats head Laura Burrell comments, “I am delighted that this engrossing format is starting to role out successfully internationally. These two deals follow hot on the heels of the incredible success of the Italian version of Nanny 911, demonstrating that the format can be easily adapted to fulfil the needs of all types of broadcaster.”
Nanny 911 sees a head nanny and her team of specialist nannies, armed with the dos and don’ts of child-rearing, rush to the aid of families across the Middle East. These diverse and knowledgeable nannies have specific areas of expertise, ranging from proper etiquette to controlling tantrums. Each one is ready to help exhausted parents tackle the issues creating chaos in their home and get their families into tip top shape.
