NEW DELHI: Reality TV is launching in Germany on cable network platform ISH and on a documentary channel Planet this month. The channel will be distributed by Zone Vision, global producer and distributor of thematic channels.
The channel has been picked up by ISH for its popular Active packages. The German documentary channel Planet is to launch daily blocks of programming from Reality TV, which will feature on all major platforms in the German speaking territories reaching over two million subscribers and mark the expansion of the Reality TV brand into the German market.
Reality TV recently launched in the US and Asia Pacific. The channel is currently beamed into 15 million households across the country. The channel is distributed in India by Zee Turner, the distribution alliance between Zee Telefilms Ltd and Turner International. The channel claims a global reach of over 35 million subscribers in over 125 territories worldwide.
"Reality-based programming with in-depth investigations is an important part of a diverse documentary channel like Planet. This is why we selected the programming from Reality TV and chose to broadcast it with the Reality TV logo to emphasize to our viewers that this is a new and different type of documentary content," says managing director James W Wells.
Highlights from the branded blocks include What Went Wrong? a series that dissects the mysteries surrounding some of the world's most disastrous events, from air crashes to unexpected mishaps and engineering miscalculation. Another show, Anatomy of a Crime which reveals the truth behind some of the worst atrocities ever committed and Disaster Detectives, a series that presents some of the world's most devastating avalanches, floods, forest fires, hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanoes as seen through the eyes of those who have experienced and survived it all.
Zone Vision currently owns and operates Reality TV, Romantica and Europa Europa, managing and representing services available to 84.5 million homes in over 125 countries.
