ESPN STAR Sports today announced it was launching the Hindi edition of SportsCenter, ESPN's flagship programme in the US.

SportsCenter's Hindi edition is ESPN's first localisation of the programme in Asia. Through the half-hour, SportsCenter Hindi will contain various elements such as Headline International News, Cricket News, Football Wrap-up, India Diary, Sponsored Section, Cricket Rankings, India Results, Play of the Day, et al, according to a company release.

SportsCenter Hindi follows the US programme's original format of news, feature stories, analysis, clippings and guest commentators.

SportsCenter Hindi will be anchored by Darain Shahidi, formerly a sports presenter with NDTV. In addition, the programme will also feature special sports celebrity guests who will be reporting on-ground. They will provide analysis and forecasts of on-going international cricket matches.
