Mumbai: Colors Kannada recently launched its new fiction show, Kendasampige, a story based on a slum-dwelling brother and sister who run a flower-selling business.

The cast of the show includes veteran actor Doddanna, thespian Nagaraj Koti, debutant Akshay, and others. The show is produced by the team of the Colors Kannada blockbuster Ginirama. National Award-winning director Preetham Shetty is directing the show.

The Kannada newspaper Vijaya Karnataka and the channel have launched a high-impact print campaign as part of the marketing strategy.

The fragrance of the Champa flower scented the front page of the daily, symbolising the fiction title Kendasampige. Approximately five lakh copies of perfumed newspapers were distributed throughout Karnataka.

Kannada actor, Dr. Shivaraj Kumar, paid a visit to the newspaper's offices and posed for a photo with this cutting-edge print edition.

Speaking about the campaign, Colors Kannada marketing director Shriram B.R. said, "A unique approach like this can always help the brand to meet the objective of the launch. "The Champa (Sampige) flower fragrance has given readers a fresh feel to start their Monday while establishing a strong connection to the show’s theme."
