Gujarati serials, stars win awards

MUMBAI: Several Gujarati TV and film luminaries were honoured at the second Transmedia Gujarati Screen and Stage awards 2002 sponsored by ETV Gujarati. Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi was the chief guest of honour at the function held at Hotel Tulip Star in Mumbai on 19 March.
The following is the list of winners in the television category for various Gujarati serials:
Best writer - CM Patel for Huto Hutino Ghar Sansar
Best cameraman - Ramdev Bhaduri for Bhai Tumharo Kehiyu Pade
Best lyricist - Mukesh Joshi for Parki Thapan
Best female singer - Poonam Bhatia for the title song of 
Ek Kiran Aasha No
Best male singer and music director - Gaurang Vyas for Veer Narmada
Best supporting TV actress - Falguni Parikh for Bhaagyavidhaata
Best supporting TV actor - Mukesh Raval for Kaanku na Suraj
Best actress - Sharmili Raj for Bhaagyavidhaata
Best actor - Mehul Bhuj for Ek Kiran Aasha No
Best director - Subhash Shah for Naari Tu Na Haari
Best TV serial - Asha Parekh's Naari Tu Na Haari
A special recognition award was given to Doordarshan Ahmedabad (DD 11) employee and producer-editor-director Pankaj Chauhan for his serial Ek Daal Na Panchi which has created a record by completing 375 episodes.
