HONG KONG : Xing Kong, Star's 24-hour Mandarin entertainment channel in Mainland China, will bring the first live telecast of Miss Universe to Mainland China on 4 June. In India, the show will air on Zee English at 7:30 am with a repeat at 8:30 pm..
Nearly, 72 contestants from across the globe, including India's Nikita Anand and Mainland China delegate Miss Wei Wu, will vie for the coveted Miss Universe crown and other fabulous prizes in the beauty pageant. The pageant takes place in Panama which was made famous by the John LeCarre novel.
As part of its promotional campaign, Zee English sent funskool dolls to media outlets. In China, the programme will be sponsored by C-Bons, a leading healthcare group in the country. The sponsorship campaign includes billboards, television commercials, on-air promotions and an SMS competition.
Xing Kong is the first all-new channel granted cable TV carriage rights in Mainland China. Redefining entertainment with groundbreaking programmes produced for Mainland audiences, content on the channel includes drama series, comedies, variety, talk and game shows, cartoons and movies. Xing Kong features over 700 hours of original programming each year.
