MSOs say no to price reduction during CAS honeymoon

NEW DELHI: Information and broadcasting minister Ravi Shankar Prasad's avowed statement that price levels would be held at Rs 72 for all pay channels until the gradual rollout of CAS zonewise in the four metros has gone for a toss.
MSOs jointly came together today to announce and reiterate that there would be no price reduction in the interim migration or honeymoon period from 1 August. "It will be life as usual," said the head of an MSO.
This announcement means another commitment in l'affaire CAS has gone phut. Are there any other surprises in store? Watch this space.
