MUMBAI: The Samsung IIFA Awards, which was held at the Amsterdam Arena, will be broadcast on Star Plus on 26 June.
The Samsung IIFA Awards was inaugurated by IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan and the Mayor of Amsterdam, Job Cohen.
The channel will also telecast the mega-event through interesting and exciting episodes over all weekends. The episode will also showcase Samsung IIFA Awards presentation ceremony and the action at the IIFA Weekend in Amsterdam.
Shahrukh Khan compared the spectacular awards ceremony, with Karan Johar and Fardeen Khan.
The IIFA Awards ceremony witnessed dazzling performances by the likes of Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, Esha Deol, Isha Sharwani, Shahid Kapoor- Kareena Kapoor.
The grand finale performance was given by Abhishek Bachchan, he was joined on stage by Aishwarya Rai and as a special surprise by his father Amitabh Bachchan.
The star cast of film Chocolate and international pop sensations Bombay Rockers and Rouge were present at the occasion.
The Samsung IIFA Awards saw delegates like Praful Patel - minister of civil aviation India, Lalit Suri - Member of Parliament, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Omkar Singh Kanwar (Apollo Tyres), S. P. Hinduja, G. P. Hinduja, P. P. Hinduja and the delegates from Netherlands included Laetitia Griffith - Alderwoman of Economic Affairs for the city of Amsterdam, Job Cohen- Mayor of Amsterdam, Karla Peijs - Minister for Transport, Public Works and Waterways, Medy Van der Laan - Secretary of State, Eric Niehe - Ambassador of Netherlands in India and Mrs Leela Ponappa - Ambassador of India to Netherlands.
The special attraction this year at the red carpet was the fashions especially created by designers Anna Singh, Vikram Phadnis and Manish Malhotra.
The IIFA weekend was replete with a host of exhilarating events like the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum, the IIFA Flim Festival, the star studded IIFA Foundation Celebrity cricket match and the IIFA World premiere of Parineeta.
