MUMBAI: The Indian Wikimedia Chapter has chosen Text 100 (India) as the official PR partner for "WikiConference India 2011" to be held between November 18-20 in Mumbai. One of the key highlights of WikiConference India, being held for the first time in the country, will be the key note address by Wikipedia founder, tech-icon and open-source evangelist Jimmy Wales.

Around a thousand people from the four corners of the country have already confirmed their participation in this mega conference. It aims to create cohesion among pan-India communities by creating an opportunity for volunteers all over India to meet, share information and learn from each other. Precisely what Wikipedia stands for in the digital world.

Pranav Curumsey, the Chairperson on the Organizing Committee for the WikiConference India said, "It gives us great pleasure to be organising India?s first ever WikiConference and one of the largest ever in the world. This is an age of digital media, and the social networking revolution is creating new paradigms in consumption of information and knowledge exchange. We are delighted to have found an apt partner in Text 100 PR Consultancy who understand and share our ideology of access to knowledge for all in the digital era.

Commenting on the partnership, Ashish Arora, Principal Consultant & Digital Lead, Text 100 India, averred "Wikipedia has revolutionized the way people accesses information for personal knowledge, academics or business at large. The world‘s largest repository of free information has given Right To Information a new meaning. It is a matter of pride that the 2011 WikiConference is being held for the first time in India. Given the conference‘s intent to create a knowledge sharing ecosystem and exciting idea exchange around creating more Wiki contributors in Indic and other languages, coupled with our commitment to democratization of information in today‘s digital era, we are thrilled to associate with them as PR partners."
