Why Honor Killing? And who suffers?

NEW DELHI: ?Honor Killing?, as shameful as it may sound; such things still exist and is very rampant in many parts of our country. It is very unfortunate that the caste system in India has turned into a social evil for many, where more than 1000 young people are killed every year by their kin, or other members of their caste owing to ?Honor Killings?.

‘Girl murdered by father & brother‘...‘Khap panchayat orders killing.‘ These are headlines that catch our attention almost every week, but are forgotten very quickly. But the question is why this heinous crime is committed?

Zindagi LIVE on IBN7 this week talks about this prevalent curse of our society; the false ‘honor‘ which prompts blood relations to turn killers. The show talks to some of the parents who have lost their children, as they describe ghastly murders which took place in front of their own eyes.
