  • Disney UTV's Indiagames crosses 200 million downloads on the Nokia Store!

    MUMBAI : Disney UTV?s Indiagames has set a new benchmark in the app world by crossing 200 million downloads on the Nokia Store! Only nine months back the 100 million downloads mark had been accomplished.

    Downloads were recorded from countries right around the world, with the top 10 countries being India, Brazil, Vietnam, Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey, Thailand, Pakistan, Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia.

    Cricket, Bollywood, Casual and Action are the top four genres of games downloaded with top 10 games being - 
    1. DLF IPL 2012 - The official DLF IPL Season 5 cricket game with 9 spectacular teams, each with 11 of the world?s top cricketers who play each other in the exhilarating T20 cricket format to claim their championship.
    2. Ra. One Genesis- Based on the popular movie ?Ra.One? -?Ra.One Genesis? is an action packed adventure mobile game where the players play as ?G.One? the superhero with supernatural powers who fights his way through Ra.One?s army of minions.
    3. Aladdin The New Adventure- The player plays the lead role of Aladdin and fights enemies with swordplay making his way through several levels based on locations from the movie from the streets and rooftops of Agrabah the Cave of Wonders.
    4. Monster Truck Dash - ?Monster Truck Dash? tosses the player right into a high powered Monster Truck; where he drives through some bumpy courses which require both aggression and handling.
    5. Phineas & Ferb - Cute and adorable game filled with humor, adventure, crazy scientific contraptions physics and action - All Phineas & Ferb style!
    6. Cricket Fever Challenge - Turn based multiplayer cricket game which allows players to challenge and beat friends over Facebook or take on players globally.
    7. UP - Based on the Disney Pixar film UP, the player needs to navigate Carl?s balloon tethered home against forceful winds and numerous obstacles to its final destination - Paradise Falls.
    8. Cars 2 - A fast paced action adventure game based on the movie. Players race through London Porto Corsa and Tokyo to save Lightning McQueen.
    9. Pirates of the Carribean - Based on the movie, this adventurous game lets the player take on the role of Jack Sparrow whose goal is to conquer his ship Black Pearl back. He progresses through an exciting series of adventures with sword wielding enemies.
    10. Lion King Returns - This game is about the young lion cub Simba?s fight to regain his strength and power so that he is ready to become the rightful leader of the Pride Land.

  • No Amateurs, no Kids, no Wannabes- only Top Chefs

    Mumbai :The all new season of Top Chef is back with its ninth season?Top Chef Texas. This season sees the return of the yummy mummy Padma Lakshmi as the host and jury member. The show starts with a much bigger number of contestants i.e 29 with only 16 moving forward vying for the prize money of $125,000. The series is premiering on AXN on the 18th of February, 2013 at 8 pm.

    The premiere episode has 29 chefs with the judges splitting them into three groups for the exciting new challenges. While some will move forward, some will get a second chance and while others will go back home. Padma Lakshmi will be joined by head judge Tom Colicchio, and Gail Simmons from Food & Wine magazine. Joining them this season are judges Hugh Acheson and Emeril Lagasse. Top Chef has earned the reputation of being all about the serious business of cooking and the show?s no non-sense attitude has made it one of the most appreciated culinary based reality shows on television.

    With this new season comes in a new twist in the show. Apart from the Quickfire and Elimination Challenges there is a ?Last Chance Kitchen? round where the eliminated contestants are allowed to compete head-to-head in a series of webisodes, with the winner eventually returning to the main competition.

    Mumbai: HISTORY (US) is one of the top brands of 2012 in the US, according to the research conducted by BrandIndex.

    BrandIndex is the authoritative measure of brand perception in US which continuously measures public perception of thousands of brands across dozens of sectors. (Methodology appended below)

    According to the 2012 Annual US Top Buzz Rankings, HISTORY Channel (US) ranked 5th and emerged as the No. 1 brand on TV in USA. HISTORY Channel is a Top 10 regular and with Discovery Channel dropping to number 14, the only network in the short list in 2012. The other brands that have featured in the top 10 list are Subway, Amazon, Ford, YouTube and Google amongst others.

    US-based A+E Networks, which runs HISTORY channel, entered India in October 2011 as HISTORY TV18, with a joint venture with TV18.
