  • The Advertising Club Bombay announces 97 short listed entrie for 2011 EFFIE India Awards

    MUMBAI: The Advertising Club Bombay announced the final shortlist of entries for 2011 EFFIE India Awards to be held on December 14, 2011. The final shortlist of 97 entries was announced last evening after a rigorous judging process held across 3 days, comprising 2 judging sessions in Mumbai and one in Delhi. A first such session was held in Delhi this year to induce participation from agencies and clients across Delhi.

    The EFFIE 2011 Awards have received 300 entries this year as against 276 entries last year across award categories, received from over 20 agencies across the length and breadth of the country, a record in itself. From across these 20 agencies, 97 entries have been shortlisted in the first round of judging. The first round of shortlisting was held across award categories by an eminent jury comprising a rich panel of 60 judges. The judging panel comprised a rich mix of senior members across the marketing, advertising and media fraternity.

  • TimesDeal.com mobile recharge deal gets 50,000 orders in one day

    MUMBAI: TimesDeal.com, the group buying portal of The Times of India Group, offered users a special mobile recharge deal on 1st December, 2011. The deal allowed users to pay just Rs 50 and get a mobile recharge voucher from PayTM worth Rs 100. By offering users double the value of their money, the deal was a super hit with the users.

    The deal sold 50,000 orders in a single day, a new record in terms of number of online orders in the e-commerce space in India. Timesdeal saw a huge traffic surge, with more than 250,000 unique visitors reported for that day.
    Regarding the deal, Mr Rishi Khiani, CEO of Times Internet Ltd said, "Offering users relevant high value-for-money deals like these has always been our primary focus for TimesDeal. For both TimesDeal and PayTM, it was of paramount importance to make the process of buying and redeeming this deal secure and simple, and I am glad we have been able to achieve that. The overwhelming response bears testimony to this."

    Paytm.com, the partner in the deal is a subsidiary of One97 Communications. It is an e-commerce platform that offers a medium for mobile users to recharge their prepaid connections. The offer generated almost 100,000 visits on PayTM and the number of new users spiked up by 1700% on the day.

  • Disney's Princess Cinderella to visit India in December

    MUMBAI: Disney is bringing Princess Cinderella and her Prince Charming to India beginning 19 December.

    Disney is calling the Princesses and Cinderella fans to put on their dancing shoes and be a part of this experience as Cinderella and Prince Charming star in 20 live shows across five cities.

    Over 250,000 Disney Princess fans across Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai will get to see Cinderella and Prince Charming.

    Starting with their arrival at the Bangalore Palace on 19th December, every show will comprise of storytelling session, Disney Princess makeover sessions, Waltz performance by Cinderella and Prince Charming, followed by special meet and greet with fans.

    The Walt Disney Company India executive director, marketing Avinash Pant said, "We are excited to bring our India fans this amazing opportunity to meet their favourite Disney Princess. Creating memorable experiences for kids and families is at the heart of everything we do at Disney and we intend to provide our fans as many opportunities as possible to experience our stories first hand and engage with our characters."

    Disney, in association with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, will also fulfil wishes of 60 children suffering from life threatening illness.

    Clinic Plus has also tied up with Disney to further magnify the Disney Princess magic. It has launched packs with three Disney Princesses -- Rapunzel, Jasmine and Little Mermaid. During the promotional period, fans will get free Disney Princess 3D hair accessories and jewellery with every Clinic Plus bottle (90ml, 200ml and 400ml).
