  • Sayyed Iqbal Abdulla wins the Citibank Rising Star Award 2011

    Mumbai: Kolkata Knight Riders? bowler Sayyed Iqbal Abdulla has been named Winner of the 2011 Citibank Rising Star Award. The Citibank Rising Star Award recognizes the best under-23 player of the DLF IPL season. The trophy is adjudicated by an eminent jury including former Indian cricketers Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar. Sanjeev Kapur, Chief Marketing Officer, Citi India presented Iqbal Abdulla with the trophy and cheque.

    The twenty-year-old, Iqbal Abdulla was named the best young player of this year‘s season ahead of other strong contenders including Virat Kohli and Ravi Jadeja. He ended the season with 16 wickets at 19.06 with an economy rate of only 6.1.

    Mr. Chirayu Amin, Chairman, IPL said "The Citibank Rising Star Award highlights a valuable benefit of the DLF IPL to Cricket in India. This is a league in which talent meets opportunity and Iqbal Abdulla has taken full advantage of playing with and against the world‘s best to show his potential in the T20 form of the game. We congratulate him on an outstanding season and wish him all the best in his future endeavours on the field. He has now become a role model for many young cricketers."

    MUMBAI: Disney Channel is all set to make this weekend full of fun and adventure for all Doraemon fans with the premiere of his new movie ? Doraemon in Nobita?s South Seas Adventure. The cool cat from the future will be seen sailing the high seas with Nobita and his other friends on a voyage. The movie will premiere on June 5, 2011 at 10 am on Disney Channel.

    Arnab Chaudhuri, director, content and creative, Walt Disney Television International India said, ?Doraemon is one of the most loved characters on kid?s television. What better way to end the summer vacations than to travel the high seas, go on a treasure hunt, fight with mysterious creatures and pirates with Doraemon, Nobita and their friends!?

    Doraemon in Nobita?s South Seas Adventure begins when instead of studying about the sea, Nobita reads about a Treasure Island. He then gets the idea to go on a treasure hunting adventure and his friends Gian and Suneo are tricked into playing pirates. The plot thickens when something goes wrong and all of them are transported into the past where they meet up with real pirates. And to add to the adventure, Doraemon cannot use his famous gadget pocket to help his friends! The movie also features an adorable Dolphin, Rupin who helps them in the island full of mysterious creatures. Keeping this in mind, Tata Photon has come up with a new outdoor campaign which highlights the brand message ?Get Speed, Get Time?.

    Campaign Objective:

    The objective of this campaign was to depict the message of Tata Photon Get Speed, Get Time effectively, by breaking through the everyday clutter and humdrum way of advertising on outdoor media. The task in hand was to execute a creative yet impactful idea which communicates that with the use of Tata Photon, one can save time while accessing high speed internet ? anytime, anywhere!

    Campaign Background:

    This campaign captures an emotional space in the consumer?s mind. What happens when one gets speed on hand? It translates into getting things done faster within stipulated timelines or maybe even before and therefore more time on hand to do get a life; doing something that one loves doing! Time is the new luxury for this generation and the most precious commodity in their lives, therefore the thought of Get Speed, Get Time ? the opportunity to get more time for life.

    Outdoor Innovation:

    While being simple and sticking to the brand message, we wanted to ensure that our outdoor innovation surprises our TG in the most ideal manner. So, we went ahead and placed a huge (size) real time brand signage at one of the most prominent and visibly preferred location of suburban Mumbai --- the famous Mahim Causeway.

    This site is at one of the most beautiful outdoor location on little stack that is covered with the utmost greenery and beautified with the use of small water fountains around. More than anything else it?s the overall look of the site that captured our attention and ensured that we give preference to this site compared to many others. To promote and exhibit the capabilities of this display, we have made use of bright LED lights to ensure that we do not lose any sights even during the night time.
