  • Rakhi Sawant will do justice only on Imagine through Rakhi Ka Insaaf

Submitted by ITV Production on Aug 23, 2010

MUMBAI: As an Indian citizen, you know that the law will give you justice when it comes to criminal issues like murder, robbery or rape. But in our country there are other more widespread issues and problems, for which ordinary citizens may not know whom to turn to. If your husband (and father of your 2 children), is having an affair with another woman, what to do you? If your children have thrown you out of your home in old age, whom do you go to? If your husband is an alcoholic who physically abuses every night, whom do you turn you? If your in laws don?t respect you because you did not bring enough dowry, who do you turn to for help? All these issues are widespread in our country, but people don?t know how to resolve them.

In the last few years, media has become a powerful tool to not only raise awareness, but also solve such issues. So now, media will rightfully provide a platform to all those people, who are looking for a resolution to these problems but don?t know where to go for help. And the person who will help them will be a famous media personality herself. A lady who is brave, confident and is not afraid to speak her mind ? Rakhi Sawant. Imagine joins hands with UTV and I AM Productions to present Rakhi Ka Insaaf.

This show is an attempt to provide a platform for common people to voice their issues and problems and look for a resolution. It is a first-of-its-kind show which will attempt to address real life problems of real people. A show that promises to hold a mirror to today?s society and its values.

At the center of the show, providing resolutions and delivering her brand of justice, will be the one and only Rakhi Sawant. A self made woman, Rakhi Sawant is today recognized for speaking her mind and for taking the challenges of life head on. As someone who has herself faced many such problems at close quarters and has struggled hard in life to achieve success, she is just the right person to pass judgment and deliver justice. Her brand of justice is not legal but is intuitive and straight from the heart.

Rakhi will hear both the victim and the accused and provide both parties an opportunity to explain their side of the story. After hearing their views, she will pass a fair, honest and a humane judgment.

Speaking on the occasion Harsh Rohatgi, Head Content and Communications Imagine said, ?There are very few forums that exist today which allow people to air their grievances, to seek justice and find closure. Even if these forums exist, people are not aware of them. ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf‘ will provide them this platform. Rakhi herself has faced many hardships over the years and is very empathetic of people and their problems. This coupled with her innate sense of right and wrong, will make her the perfect adjudicator.?

Says Rakhi Sawant ?I have faced many hardships and difficult situations in my life and at all points, I wished for someone who would help and guide me in the right direction. My experiences in life have made me able and capable to provide guidance to others. I am looking forward to this new opportunity and hope to give ?insaaf dil se?.?
Moti Sagar, I AM Productions, ?This is really a path-breaking concept. We are very excited and thrilled to join hands with Imagine for the same. We believe that the show will not only be accepted by our audiences, but also help them in the right direction to resolve their issues.?

Adds Santosh Nair, UTV, ?Sometimes, to solve disputes and deliver justice, one doesn‘t need a court of law but an objective, third party perspective. The perspective of someone who has been through the trials of life herself, someone known to speak her mind - Rakhi! This show has amazing stories and a unique style of justice. We are confident that Rakhi Ka Insaaf will be one of the most captivating shows on television.?
