  • Dadagiri 2: A macho dare ?Hunkrider? awaits the boys at Vishal?s playground

Submitted by ITV Production on Sep 25, 2009

MUMBAI: After the flags and the wooden board tasks, the 4 contestants Nitin, Neville, Himanshu, Priyanka, Feroza and Mehek survive the challenging 11th episode. The 12th episode of DADAGIRI this Saturday, 26th September, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. only on UTV Bindass is an absolute macho task where muscles, brain and balance are of utmost importance. The male contestants will compete with each other in the breath taking ?HunkRider? task.

The task will begin with the stunt man riding the bike and the fighters will stand on the bike. Once the bike reaches the net, the fighters will jump on the net, climb up, take the key and run to the stationed bike, carry the small tub which has the balloon and drive towards the end point making sure the balloon doesn?t fall. There is a target board at a distance which has 10, 20, 30, 50 marked on it which are timings marked in seconds. The fighters have to drive to the target board and hit the balloon and whichever mark it hits that many seconds would be subtracted from their total dare timing. The twist is that once they start the bike they cannot stop it or put their foot down. The dare has to be completed while in motion.

At Sonali?s playground, the boys are going to help the girls. Each girl has to choose a boy according to their height. The dare is 10 Balls equals 1 goal. The fighters have to use their mouth/nose/face to push the balls in the goal post. The twist is that the boys will wrap their partners like a mummie in strips dipped in a mixture of cow dung, horse dung and horse pee.
Each part of the body has to be covered except eyes, nose and mouth. The fighters will then have to lie on their stomach and crawl and get the ten balls in the goal post within 10 minutes.

Watch the contestants as they struggle to survive the meanest show and face elimination in the 12th week of this journey!!!

Catch the 12th action-packed episode of the ?baap? of reality shows ? Hero Honda Hunk Bindass Dadagiri, this Saturday, 26th September, 7:00 p.m. only on UTV Bindass!

So what?s happening? Are we in for a serious economic downturn?

Not really ! All of them and many others are participating in the first edition of the Joy of Giving Week, to be held from September 27- October 3, 2009 across India. They are participating not by just giving money, but by committing their time, skills and resources for a cause. A day?s cricket coaching with Sachin, an opportunity for ISB students to shadow India?s leading CEOs for a day, Saif?s mobile phone, sunglasses and bag and Deepika?s easel and handbag from the movie Love Aaj Kal, an Imtiaz Ali autographed original script of the blockbuster hit movie, Jab We Met and a few other items will be auctioned at www.eBay.in/jgw with the proceeds going to a range of charities chosen by each of these personalities.

The auctions will go live on eBay at 12 noon on Friday, September 25, 2009 and end at 12 noon on October 5, 2009. A nominal minimum bid price of Rs1,001 has been kept for all items, to encourage every Indian to get a chance to bid, even if not win, these wonderful opportunities. More items will get added to the site during the Joy of Giving Week. eBay is providing the auction engine and support completely free of cost as its contribution to the effort.

Sachin says, ?I will spend quality time with the person or team that bids generously. All the money is going to a good cause, and I will reciprocate by offering some serious cricketing tips, besides suitable photo opportunities and I?ll end the camp with lunch together with the participants.?

Saif Ali Khan says, ?As part of the Joy of Giving Week, I am myself auctioning some of the things I used from the movie - Love Aaj Kal, like my mobile phone, my bag and my sunglasses. It is all for charity, for a great cause, so please give freely?.

Deepika Padukone added, ?I am offering on auction things from the movie Love Aaj Kal, like my foldable easel and even a little handbag that I used. The proceeds will go to help the underprivileged girl child. So bid generously, and together, let?s celebrate the Joy of Giving Week?.

Imtiaz Ali, Director of Jab We Met, said, ?The Joy of Giving Week is an idea whose time has come. The 21st century belongs to us Indians and we can take our rightful place among global superpowers if we all join together and give to create opportunities for the less fortunate.?

The auction of the opportunity to shadow leading CEOs is a ?private auction? limited to the students of ISB in the first year. More than 100 ISB students are participating, with bids averaging well over Rs25,000 to ?shadow? a CEO for a day.

The proceeds from Sachin?s auction will go towards Apnalaya ? a Mumbai based NGO which helps slum children towards leading a better life ? a cause that Sachin has been associated with for quite a few years and provides significant financial support to. ?We are delighted and thank Sachin for this most generous gift of his precious time to benefit Apnalaya?, said Leena Joshi, Director, Apnalaya.

Proceeds from the auction of Love Aaj Kal items will benefit IIMPACT, an NGO founded by IIMA alumni to educate under-privileged girl children, working in four rural districts in the states of Rajasthan and U.P., Karnataka and Jharkhand. Sharing his excitement, Anil Tandon, President of IIMPACT, says, ?On behalf of 10,000 IIMPACT girls we thank the team of ‘ Love Aaj Kal ‘ from the bottom of our hearts. • McDonald's launches Extra Value Meals (EVM's)

Submitted by ITV Production on Sep 24, 2009

MUMBAI: When the consumers and food retailers are reeling under the impact of high commodity and food prices, McDonald‘s has boldly launched Extra Value Meals (EVM‘s) in the country, and is hoping to further strengthen its leadership position in the Indian market, by increasing its value proposition which rests on quick service and affordability. The extra value meals have been launched at prices starting from INR 85 only.

Extra Value meals have been one of biggest success in the McDonald‘s system across the world during these difficult economic times, and have contributed to the growth in sales. This launch is no knee jerk reaction, but a planned move by the industry leader to strengthen its already strong brand position in the country.

According to Sanjiv Katyal, Director - Marketing, McDonald‘s North & East, "We are very well established in consumer minds, and have been testing menu options to take care of their needs across different day parts. With the launch of Extra Value meals, we have been able to fill an important gap that was felt during the Lunch and the Dinner Hours. It is specifically targeted towards customers looking for a quick, hygienic and an affordable meal".

With the launch of EVM‘s, the company has revised the price of its meal combos to new price points. McVeggie, with Medium Fries and a Medium Coke is at INR 85...whereas, the non-vegetarian option, McChicken meal combo is now available with medium fries and a medium Coke at Rs. 99/- only.

Providing a rationale for the price revision during these trying times, Vikram Bakshi, Managing Director, McDonald‘s North & East, said, "Rising commodity prices have certainly hurt us, but at the same time we cannot have a knee jerk reaction and keep hitting the menu board. For McDonald‘s, the affordability has been cornerstone of our success, and helped us drive volumes. We felt there was scope to build sales by giving compelling reasons to our customers to come to McDonald‘s more often. Moreover, we see great opportunity in the growth of meals through this strategy. We are looking to increase our meals sale to 35 - 40 percent of the total sales (which at present is at 25 per cent)."
