  • Dadagiri 2: Episode 9 - leeches and cheese is the meal for the day!!!

Submitted by ITV Production on Sep 04, 2009

MUMBAI: After caking their face with cow dung on Sonali?s dare on the last episode of Dadagiri, the contestants are getting prepared yet again to face the Dadas whose crazy tasks and dares see no bounds of reason. The 9th episode of DADAGIRI this Saturday, 5th, September, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. only on UTV Bindass is going to take you by storm as the tasks are unimaginably tough and the dares bitingly scary!

On day 9 of the boot camp, host Akash wakes up the contestants and ask them to be ready to leave for Vishal?s macho zone in half an hour. Being used to getting ready in a matter of minutes, the contestants take it easy only to realize that one of the two bathrooms they use is missing. With Neha finding the bathroom too dirty and starting to clean it, all the contestants get delayed and are punished on the reaching the macho zone and made to run around the task zone with gunny bags. At the Macho Zone this week, there is a humungous seesaw and on either side at a little distance are flag points marked in yellow and blue. Each has 3 bags filled with sand and marked in the color of the section they belong to. The dare is to cycle over the seesaw and put the yellow bags in the blue section and the blue bags in the yellow section. Adding to the woes, each time the contestants feet touch the seesaw 1 second is added to the total timing of the dare. The bottom three are then sent away to Sonali?s playground to experience one of her dreaded dares.

At Sonali?s ?Playground?, the bottom 3 contestants have to face an extremely stingy dare. There is a plate of cheese and all the contestants have to do is find the 10 cubes of cheese with their mouth and eat it. The stingy bit comes in here; the cheese is covered with one of the most dreaded, disgustingly annoying stingy creatures? LEECHES. Now watch the bottom three fight it out with the leeches to get their cube of cheese and be saved from facing eliminations this time. Ouch!

  • MGP Cinzano Di San Marino E Della Riviera Race - Live on Ten Sports

Submitted by ITV Production on Sep 04, 2009

Mumbai: The Moto GP Circuit will get a distinct San Marinese flavour as on 6th September 2009 they will be back on the Misano Circuit, the land of motors. The countdown for the Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini has begun. Riders emotions will be at an all time high as they prepare mentally to garner points and consolidate positions. The biggest riders in the Circuit, Valentino Rossi, Loris Capirossi, Marco Melandri, Andrea Dovizioso, Alex De Angelis, Mattia Pasini, Marco Simoncelli, Roberto Tamburini and others, will be the stars to look out for!

All the Action from the San Marino track can be seen LIVE on TEN SPORTS on 5 and 6 September 2009.

Last Season on this much talked about San Marino circuit, it was a one/two finish for the FIAT Yamaha Team as Valentino Rossi finished first with team mate Jorge Lorenzo runners up!It is but a given that they will look to give repeat performances in the 2009 version of the Race.

The San Marino circuit is one of the most popular among the Moto GP fans and riders alike. Misano has hosted world superbike/supersport racing since 1991 and, officially, this is known as the San Marino round, although the circuit itself is on the border of the tiny principality and is technically in Italy.

Technically, the track has a relatively simple layout made up mostly of second and third gear bends. The exception is the long back straight that measures 565 m , which is preceded by a fast left hand corner. The circuit is also renowned for inconsistent grip levels. Sea salt can contaminate the track surface to make early morning laps slippery, while the often high temperatures will test the tyres and suspension towards the end of the race. Like most tracks, the San Marino venue has it?s share of drama with the riders accepting the challenge!

There was drama alright at the Brickyard track at the RED BULL INDIANAPOLIS GRAND PRIX. Fiat Yamaha?s Jorge Lorenzo got his third victory of 2009. Crowd favourite and 5 - time world Champion Valentino Rossi and Spanish rival Dani Pedrosa both crashed in the 28 lap Brickyard contest. In fact this was Rossi?s first DNF ( did not finish) of the season. Prior to Indianapolis, Valentino Rossi had a 50 point lead over team mate ? Lorenzo, but with the win, that difference between first and second has been halved. The 22-year-old Lorenzo has now halved Rossi advantage to 25 points (one race win) with five rounds and 125 points still undecided.

San Marino has a true blooded local in San Marinese driver Alex De Angelis! But all eyes will be on the two riders who battle it out in the front. The Fiat Yamaha team, does indeed have a lot to look forward to.

  • It?s Lights On, Cameral Roll and Action! On the sets of Zoom Review Show

Submitted by ITV Production on Sep 03, 2009

MUMBAI: Catch Omar Qureshi as he gives his take on movies which are a Big No No and which are a Yes! this weekend, Friday, September 4th 2009, 7:30pm only on ?The Zoom Review Show.?

Ace movie critic Omar begins the show in a special way as always. This week he reviews attention-grabbing movies as the lights flash, the cameras roll and he gets into action.

As the lights come on, Omar reviews Aagey se right directed by Indrajit Nattooji. This comedy is here to make us laugh loud featuring an extra ordinary star cast Shreyas Talpade, Kay Kay Menon, Mahi Gill, Shehnaz Treasurywala, Vijay Maurya and Shiv Pandit. Aagey Se Right is the story of chance, co-incidence and real life humor based in present day Mumbai. The film spans over five days of panic, chaos and mayhem. The film is about a cop and terrorist. Through a series of events not in their control the cop loses his gun and the terrorist loses his heart. Their two worlds collide in a maze of chance and mayhem. The film is an edgy contemporary satire of the chaotic times that we live in where ?Aage se right? may not be always right.

As the Cameras roll on set, Omar talks about Three: Love, Lies and Betrayal. We have seen many such twists and turns when it comes to marriage but this one is out of the box. The thriller is directed by Vishal Pandya starring Nausheen Ali Sardar, Ashish Chowdhry and Akshay Kapoor. Nausheen Ali Sardar is set to make a big splash on the Big Screen after Television. The story revolves around Mrs. Anjini Dutt (Nausheen Ali Sardar), a violin teacher married to Rajeev Dutt (Akshay Kapoor) who is running the house with whatever she earns. Her husband lives on her earnings which leads to anger and frustration in their relationship. This brings Sanjay (Ashish Chowdhry) into the picture. He soon reads the tension between the couple and sympathizes with her which brings them closer. Who will win in this game of love, lies and betrayal one will only have to wait and watch for the drama to unfold!

Omar gets into action and gives us scoop on Fox directed by Deepak Tijori which stars the dashing Arjun Rampal, sizzling Udita Goswami, rough and tough Sunny Deol and lovely Sagarika Ghatge. The Movie consists of a groovy item song titled as "Sexy Kudiye.? Punjabi pop singer Mika is the lead vocalist of the song. Fox is a suspense thriller that moves at high speed between the full of life metropolis of Bombay and the beautiful beaches of Goa. The story of a young, successful criminal lawyer, Arjun (Arjun Rampal) loves being famous and successful and spends little time thinking about the moral issues related to his work. After years of saving criminals from punishment, one day, torn with guilt, he decides to quit his law practice and change for good. However, someone seems to be unwilling to let him go so easily. Now, Arjun is in a race to save himself, and must use the help of his girlfriend Urvashi (Sagarika Ghatge) and a local Goa police officer Yash Deshmukh (Sunny Deol) before it?s too late.

Last but not the least Omar packs up by giving us a review on Hollywood Movie ?Final Destination? also known as Final Destination 4 and Final Destination: Death Trip directed by David R. Ellis starring Bobby Campo, Shantel VanSanten, Nick Zano, Haley Webb. On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O‘Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave and escaping seconds before Nick‘s frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they‘ve cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one in increasingly gruesome ways, Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination.

Catch Omar Qureshi as he unveils all the thrills and spills of the upcoming movies only on ?The Zoom Review Show? Friday, September 4th 2009, 7:30pm only on ZoOm.

  • Dhoni and Dilshan nominated in three categories at LG ICC Awards 2009

Submitted by ITV Production on Sep 03, 2009

MUMBAI: Mahendra Singh Dhoni of India and Sri Lanka?s Tillakaratne Dilshan have both been nominated in three different categories at the LG ICC Awards 2009.

The two men feature in the long-lists for the Awards, which will take place at a glittering ceremony in Johannesburg on 1 October. In addition, there are 18 players who are nominated in two distinct categories.

All appear among the long-lists of nominations for prizes at the sixth annual LG ICC Awards, presented in association with the Federation of International Cricketers? Associations (Fica). The long-lists were announced at a function in Mumbai today hosted by former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri and attended by current India opener Virender Sehwag ? who himself is one of the players nominated for the ODI Player of the Year award ? and ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat.

This year?s LG ICC Awards includes eight individual prizes and also features the selection of the Test and ODI Teams of the Year and the award to the side that has adhered most to the Spirit of Cricket.

?The LG ICC Awards are an opportunity for the ICC and FICA to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable performances of the world?s top players,? said ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat.

?It is also a chance for followers of our great sport to reflect on some of the great cricketing feats they have witnessed over the past year. This will be the sixth time the awards have been handed out and yet again there are so many great performances to recall. Selecting the winners will no doubt test our selectors and voting academy,? he said.

The long-lists of nominations were made by a five-man ICC selection panel chaired by former West Indies captain and current chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee Clive Lloyd. The panel also includes former players such as India?s Anil Kumble, Mudassar Nazar of Pakistan, Bob Taylor of England and New Zealand?s Stephen Fleming.

The individual player awards will be selected by an academy of 25 highly credentialed cricket personalities from around the world. The academy includes a host of former players and respected members of the media, representatives of the Emirates Elite Panels of ICC Umpires and ICC Match Referees.

The nominations from the Women?s Cricketer of the Year were decided after a committee of former players, current administrators and journalists created a long-list. The award will then be voted for by a separate 25-person voting academy.

The Spirit of Cricket Award was voted on by all international captains as well as all members of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees. The Umpire of the Year Award was voted on by the captains and the match referees based on the umpires? performance statistics.

Dilshan is yet to win an ICC Award but he has a good chance this year as he is named among the nominees for the ICC Cricketer of the Year, Test Player of the Year and the Twenty20 International Performance of the Year.

Dhoni is a previous winner at the LG ICC Awards having been named as the ODI Player of the Year in 2008. He was also named in the 2008 ODI Team of the Year. This year he has been nominated in the Cricketer of the Year, Test Player of the Year and ODI Player of the Year categories.

The Emerging Player of the Year nominees include Australia?s new finds Philip Hughes, Ben Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle as well as the New Zealand duo of Martin Guptill and Jesse Ryder. India is represented in that category through leg-spinner Amit Mishra while there is also a place for Kemar Roach of the West Indies and England seamer Graham Onions.

To qualify for that award a player must be under the age of 26 and have played fewer than five Tests and/or 10 ODIs at the start of the voting period.

The Associate and Affiliate Player of the Year award serves to recognise and reward the efforts in all international matches of the outstanding cricketers from the teams outside the ICC Full Members. This year, Ireland boasts the most number of nominees with seven names on the list. This is followed by the Netherlands with three and Canada with two names while Kenya and Scotland claim one player each.

Based on the period between 13 August 2008 and 24 August 2009, the LG ICC Awards 2009 ? presented in association FICA ? will take into account performances by players and officials in a remarkable period for the game.

That period includes such high-profile events as the ICC World Twenty20 2009 in England, the ICC Women?s World Cup 2009 in Australia and the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2009 in South Africa, as well as several bilateral Test and ODI series.

The LG ICC Awards ceremony is now in its sixth year and this year it will be held in Johannesburg to coincide with the ICC Champions Trophy 2009. Previous ceremonies were held in London (2004), Sydney (2005), Mumbai (2006), Johannesburg (2007) and Dubai (2008).
