MUMBAI: The Bhopal gas tragedy is recognized globally as the world?s worst industrial disaster. IBN7, India?s leading Hindi news channel, will commemorate the 25th anniversary of this calamitous event with special programming that will pay tribute to the thousands of people who lost their lives or were maimed for life in this horrific tragedy as well as examine the trauma of the survivors and the relatives of the victims. The special programming ?Bhopal 25 Saal Baad?, a special documentary on Dec 3rd at 10 PM and ?Zehreeli Zindagi? a two episodes series on the show Hindustan Ki Kasam will telecast on December 02 and December 03, 2009 at 5:30pm.

The special programming ?Bhopal - 25 Saal Baad? will highlight the shattering reality of the Bhopal tragedy that shook the nation overnight. The show will feature an exclusive documentary that will bring forth the truth of the 25 year old tragedy and showcase what exactly happened on the fateful night that lead to world?s worst industrial disaster. The special show also focuses on the plight of the people who are living with the haunting memories of the tragedy and are still fighting for justice 25 years down the line.

?Zehreeli Zindagi? a two episode special on the show Hindustan Ki Kasam will deal with both the horrific after effects of the tragedy as well as the victims? continued fight for justice. The first episode will focus on the victims? manifold sufferings including chronic health problems, crippling after effects of exposure to the gas and deformities which are still prevalent amongst the people of Bhopal. The second episode will highlight the issues of compensations, and the delays by the government in providing justice to the victims. The show will also have as a guest Dr. DK Satpati popularly known as ?DOCTOR DEATH? who was the Chief Medical Officer who handled the medical crisis of that night and conducted around 4,000 autopsies of the dead victims, along with Rajkumar Keswani, a senior journalist of that time who had covered this massacre 25 years back and Swaraj Puri the then Superintendent of Police, Bhopal. Various other special stories will run on the channel through the day.
