AGS Cinemas to add 4 screens in Chennai

BANGALORE: AGS Cinema, the film exhibition company from the AGS Entertainment stable, said it will be opening four more screens at its new multiplex at Coramandal Plaza Mall in OMR in Chennai.

Starting today, dry runs and equipment tests are on and company sources reveal that tentatively by the first week of May public screening of films would commence.

AGS Cinemas CEO Archana Kalpathi says, “AGS sees film making not as a business but it is our passion for cinema and our existing business acumen that has helped us to create a structured film production and distribution business in AGS entertainment. Moving up the value chain through Film Exhibition is but a natural progression. It is with this passion and zeal that we are working in order to establish the multiplex division AGS cinemas as a name to reckon with by providing a happy experience for our customers so that we become their preferred choice when it comes to watching movies on the big screen.”

AGS Cinemas already has five screens at its own multiplex in Villivakkam. AGS cinemas is planning to expand its multiplex with more units in Chennai, Kovai, Trichy, Tanjore, Kanchipuram and Pudhucherry and once its Tamil Nadu rollout plans are complete, it has plans to go national.

AGS cinemas OMR unit is going to commence its operations by inviting underprivileged children across various orphanages and NGO’s to inaugurate the multiplex in the presence of eminent personalities from the film fraternity.

The company plans to implement a host of activities, film festivals, contests and events that will engage the audiences beyond the movie screens. It also plans to come out with their prepaid movie card which will offer a whole lot of privileges for its valued members soon.

AGS Entertainment has produced Tamil feature films like Yudham Sei, Madraspattinam, Irumbu kootai murattu singam, Santosh Subramaiam and has films like Avan Evan, Engeyum Kadhal and Vellore mavattam slated for release shortly.
