Delhi govt exempts Amol Gupte film of entertainment tax

MUMBAI: The Delhi government has exempted Amole Gupte’s Stanley Ka Dabba from entertainment tax.

Just a few days ago, the Delhi chief minister Sheila Diksit was moved after watching the film and had given an indication to exempt the film from entertainment tax.

Gupte, who has been credited of writing films like Taare Zameen Par and Kaminey, has already won over critics with the heartwarming tale of an orphan and his struggles to get a `dabba` for school.

"The movie is a pledge against child labour and showcases how poverty affects innocent children. If people can stand besides Anna Hazare, they can stand for these kids also" Gupte said.

The film stars Divya Dutta, Raj Zutshi, Gupte and his son Partho.
