MUMBAI: Dev Anand is readying a remake of his 1971 film, Hare Rama Hare Krishna. Said to be a modern retelling of the original, it will be adapted to today’s times.

Avers Anand, “It’s an outstanding script. It‘s not a sequel or remake. It‘s a new film inspired from Hare Rama Hare Krishna set in 2011."

The film will have a slightly tweaked title that will read Hare Rama Hare Krishna - Aaj.

The producer-director is looking for a girl who has no inhibitions and can replicate Zeenat Aman. “She can be from any part of the country but should look very modern in order to do justice to the character of a hippie,” Anand observes.

Anand will start shooting for the remake shortly after his upcoming film Chargesheet is complete.
