'Faltu' gets the better of 'Game' in opening weekend

MUMBAI: With the Cricket World Cup coming to an end, the week saw two new releases, Abhishek Bachchan- Kangna Ranaut starring Game and Faltu with Jackky Bhagnani, Arshad Warsi and Ritesh Deshmukh.

The flow of new films, however, will be limited till the end of April as the T20 IPL matches begin on 8th.

Being a youth oriented entertainer, Faltu takes an impressive first day collection of Rs 41 million on Friday, Rs 11 million on Saturday (drastic drop in collection due to India- Sri Lanka final match) and Rs 55 million on Sunday.

The weekend collection stands at Rs 107 million. However, the film finds its level on Monday with Rs 23 million, despite it being a holiday in some parts of the country.

Game, on the other hand, has been a total non-starter. A suspense thriller which never really built up, its opening day was a meagre Rs 11 million and weekend collections a paltry Rs 25 million. Monday collections are approximately Rs 3 million.

Meanwhile, Tanu Weds Manu has benefited in this post cricket week, collecting a handsome Rs 22 million in its 5th week run. Its total now stands at Rs 369 million.

7 Khoon Maaf has collected Rs 1.7 million in its 6th week, taking its tally to Rs 174.2 million.
