MUMBAI: The title of the remake in Hindi of the Tamil film Singham will be of the same name.

The makers are convinced that Singham is best suited for the genre that it belongs to and the subject that it boasts of.

People were of the belief that Singham was just the working title and as the film would come close to release; a new title would be identified.

"No second thoughts. Singham is the final title," confirmed director Rohit Shetty. "We are all convinced about the title. It‘s a Sanskrit word that stands for lion. I am sure everyone is familiar with that."

The story, set in the backdrop of a small town, revolves around sub-inspector (Ajay Devgn), a brave and just policeman who serves in his hometown primarily to fulfill his father’s wish. He settles every dispute in his town patiently with his words of wisdom and resorts to force only when the situation demands it.
