Salman Khan eyes remake of Mirapakaya

MUMBAI: Looks like Salman Khan has developed a penchant for South-made films. With his Wanted, a remake of Pokiri, already a hit, Khan is currently remaking three South Indian super hits - Ready (Telugu), Bodyguard (Malayalam) and Kick (Telugu).

As if this was not enough, Khan is set to remake yet another South Indian super hit Mirapakaya (2011), a cop-action-comedy, directed by Harish Shankar, that stars Ravi Teja.

Mirapakaya tells the story of an inspector in the intelligence bureau named Rishi (Ravi Teja), fondly called Mirapakaya (red chilli). He goes undercover to track a mafia don and gets himself appointed as a Hindi professor in a university in Hyderabad. There he meets Vinamra (Richa Gangopadhyay) at a temple and falls in love with her. Incidentally, she studies in the same college and their love blossoms.

At this juncture, Vaishali (Deeksha Seth), daughter of the goon Kittu Bhai (Prakashraj) Teja, is after and joins the same college. Rishi‘s boss asks him to extract information about Kittu from Vaishali and for that, Teja ends up in a love triangle between his true love and Vaishali.

Khan plans to retain the original director for the Hindi version in the regard to which talks are currently on.
