Urumi makers file cyber crime complaint

MUMBAI:The makers of Malayalam film Urumi, comprising super star Prithiviraj and cinematographer-director-producer Santosh Sivan, have filed a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police in Kerala to crack down on the culprits who have made the multilingual film available online.

The creators believe that it is the work of California resident John Kodiyan. In this connection, Prithviraj‘s mother and CEO Mallika Sukumaran has reportedly filed the complaint on behalf of August Cinemas.

It is being said that Sukumaran is planning to sue the website owner and demand a compensation of Rs 50 million. She said that she will not
withdraw her complaint unless the website owner informs her who had supplied him the film to be uploaded online. Legal action will then be
taken against the distributors involved.
