MUMBAI: Actor-writer Justin Theroux will helm Swear to God for Warner Bros. He will also rework on the script before hitting the floor of his directorial debut.
Will Ferrell and Steve Carell will star in the film. The former will play a narcissistic hedge fund manager who believes that he has seen God. Carell was recently seen in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and Hope Springs.
 The original script was penned by Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland who had earlier written for Due Date.
 Theroux also wrote the script to Zoolander 2, with a view to directing the comedy sequel.
 He also worked on the script to Rock of Ages and was last seen alongside girlfriend Jennifer Aniston in Wanderlust.
 Ferrell has lined up the film to follow shooting on his Anchorman sequel.
